Is The M235i BreadMW's Honda Civic?

If you were to tell a BMW owner that their beloved M car is comparable to a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla, they would probably trade it in for a bicycle or a metro card or a walking stick or a ...... you get the point. BMW M cars are the holy grail of auto perfection to many, so associating the holiness newest offspring to what maybe considered a run of the mill family car maybe a little disheartening for true M believers.
But is comparing the new M235i to a Civic or Corolla that terrible? For automotive Juggernauts Honda and Toyota, it is not their large people carriers that are the bread and butter of their fleets, but its cars like the Civic, Corolla, Accord and Camry that sell in high volumes that make these companies profitable. The M235i is the warm serving of bread and butter at the newly redesign BMW restaurant that you love so much. Its the filling precursor to the expensive meal you have been waiting to taste. Its simple in design, warm bread and soft butter, but it satisfies. It opens your appetite for more, it leaves you calling the waiter for the menu to see what other delightful treats you would like to sample; the image of the M5 catches your eyes, save that for the next visit, this time I will have the M4.
This is the importance of the all new M235i, it is intended to attract new customers that will inevitably fall in love with all things BMW, becoming lifelong BMW fans and owners. To see the ingredients that go into making the BreadMW, see the video below from Xcar. Enjoy!!!
