Illuminating The Brilliant Future Of Adaptive Headlights Cnet Style

As more technology gets driven into the core of the automotive industry, there is no surprise to see every aspect of the car being put under the microscope and evaluated for areas of improvement. One of the smallest and most important components of the driving experience which is often perceived as not having the most tech applied are the headlights. For many the headlight is just the amalgamation of three parts; housing, bulb and clear cover.
Within automotive engineering circles there is a much greater understanding of what goes into making a headlight. Brian Cooley of Cnet tracks the evolution of the advanced headlight from its first 1949 showing as a third eye on the Tucker, to the hyper efficient LED/Laser matrix illustrated on Audi's latest concept cars.
