Inevitable Revolution Of Autonomous Car Tech 101

There is no denying that technology has taken over almost every aspect of the way we live; Wi-Fi controlled light bulbs, Smart Televisions that you can control with your phone and eventually cars that drive without human interaction. Autonomous cars have been a hopeful vision depicted in many Sci-Fi based movies from i-Robot to 80's cartoons such as the Jetsons. Autonomous cars have received significant attention and gained outrageous momentum in the last 5 years since Google unveiled that they were conducting research into bring this dream to reality.
Integrated mass implementations of technologies such as Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Detection and Sonar Guided Systems have helped propel the actual real world coming of age reality that is the Autonomous car. It would not be a surprise to see fully autonomous cars make it to market as these and other technologies progress and become more aware of the surrounding environment, especially when there is a huge push from companies like Audi, Acura, Ford, Toyota and Mercedes-Benz.
The journey is almost complete but to fully understand what variables need to be considered to ensure a successful release of this system on the public, you have to see this breakdown by Cnet Car Tech Brian Cooley, very in-depth and honest in true Cnet style. The one question that I am sure will not be answered until fully released is, how do REAL DRIVERS view this wave of technology, is it going to be a heaven sent or an unnecessary annoyance that is here to take away from the driving experience. I can fully appreciate this technology as I crawl through NYC traffic but on a nice summer day cruising down the I-80, would I want a vehicle that algorithming to itself and sending message like "I GOT THIS, GIVE IT HERE!!!".
